The Team

We are a team of passionate biocontrollers. Our team is headed up by Prof. Julie Coetzee who is the CBC aquatic weeds programme manager, Samella Ngxande-Koza who manages our Mass Rearing and Quarantine facilities, Dr Rosali Smith who is based in Gauteng and is our eyes on the ground at Harties, along with PhD student Keneilwe Sebola, and research assistant Samantha Prinsloo. Ben Miller is a researcher on the programme making sure our control agents are doing what they're supposed to do, while Matthew Paper is responsible for developing the new biocontrol agent for common salvinia. Landile Booi, Vuyani Ntyinkala and Vusumzi Sukula are our mass rearing technicians who are responsible for collecting healthy Megamelus at the Waainek Mass Rearing Facility that are sent to Harties.
